Everyone in P6/7 completed paired reading training on the 25th of August, as well as practising how to share/read a picture book to a younger buddy.
Paired reading training was delivered as 4 workshops over 2 weeks. Pupils learned what it is like to learn how to read for the first time, and what makes a great paired reading partner. They really enjoyed role-playing bad examples and then excellent examples of paired reading. On the 27th of August, P6/7 got to put their training into practise, reading a book to their P1/2 buddies. All the staff were hugely impressed by our P6/7 pupils. They were kind, entertaining and encouraging to the P1/2s.
Well done P6/7s, we are so proud of you all!
